Before I created The Party Concierge, I had always had a particular love for paper craft and have been making stationery items for as long as I can remember. I also loved organising fun and helpful activities for the staff back in my Human Resources corporate life, but making them reasonably simple and economical to implement (as I worked for a Not for Profit). This approach is drawn from my childhood.
We didn’t have much money growing up…
and if we wanted something, often times, we had to make our own. I remember a time I wanted a particular style of sandal shoe, but my Mum wasn’t going to buy them, as I didn’t really need them. So, I went about making my own out of cardboard (for the soles) and string (for the straps). I loved those shoes and would wear them around the house often.
Celebrations and special occasions have always been a big part of my life.
Whether it was a birthday party, Christmas, friends coming over to play, or even regular family dinners. Mum would make them special, in a simple but wonderfully effective way, utilising the things we had around the house.
This is how I view your celebrations as well. I want you to absolutely love them and feel the magic, without being unnecessarily frivolous with your money.
I love working with people who are easy going, DIY and craft lovers, don’t turn into bridezillas/celebrationzillas….and share my love of cupcakes and chocolates!
